Sunday, August 24 – Dante Society’s Annual Picnic
Forty-five people gathered at Oakhurst Park, in Westminster, for the annual Dante Picnic. What a pleasant way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon! Chef John DiPentino grilled sausage patties, hamburgers, and hot dogs, and members brought picnic food such as salads, baked beans, spaghetti, cake, and fruit. Many people joined in the field games, organized by Ms. Kristina Bonarelli and Mrs. Dee Treloar. The Cake Walk and the Water Balloon Toss, once again, were the most popular competitions. Rumors have it Mr. Gianfranco Marcantonio started the water balloon fight. All the children who participated in the games received prizes, and a few lucky kids won the children’s raffle of bags filled with Italian candy and a $10 gift card. Six adult raffle winners took home bottles of wine, olive oil, a Son’s of Italy cookbook, or an Italian ceramic tray, respectively. All prizes were generously donated by the company Mark Dallasta Bricklayer and Stonemason. Mr. Mark Dallasta is the brother of Dante member Ms. Bonarelli.

Dante's Evening At The Zoppe' Circus
A group of 25 Dante members and family enjoyed a night under the big top. Fun times were had by all!! Even a downpour of rain could not stop the fun. Where there was one leak we just picked up the chairs and moved two feet. The performers where very talented from the dog act to the high flying acrobats they all held our attention especially the antics of Nino the clown and the ring master. I encourage all that when they return to make a trip to view this small but huge on talent circus.
